The Ceremony

The Details

On Saturday, August 27, 2011, we are exchanging vows on the terrace of the castle at Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam, CT. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10 o'clock in the morning, so please be seated no later than 9:45 AM. The park is open to the public starting at 8 o'clock. Logan's best friend, John Beck, will be officiating, and the ceremony will be relatively brief.

Immediately following the ceremony, group photographs will be taken. Everyone in attendance will be photographed, so don't sneak away!

Castle Tour & Lunch

After your photgraphic obligations are done, you will be invited to take a tour of the castle (tickets will be provided). No photography is allowed inside! Tours are self-guided, but park rangers will be available to answer any questions you might have.

At the culmination of your tour, you will be provided with a boxed lunch. Weather permitting, there are several picnic tables and other beautiful places to eat at the park, but feel free to take your lunch to go!

Parking

Parking is located in one main lot just past the castle itself. Simply follow the signs!

Restrooms

Restroom facilities are located in the Visitors' Center, which is right near the parking lot. These are the only restrooms available in the park, so plan accordingly.

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place under the side porch of the castle; just go wherever the chairs are set up! All other events (i.e., photographs, castle tour, and lunch) will still take place.

The Interlude

You may have noticed that there is quite a length of time between the conclusion of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception. After you've had your picture taken, toured the interior of the castle, and eaten your lunch, you're free to do as you wish. Some suggestions for how to spend your Interlude can also be found in the links below.
